Exploring New Site III - East West Highway

After our Christmas Eve BBQ Diner, LH Tan suggest that we go to East West Highway (from Grik) to shoot termendous scenery view from the peak of the mountains. So 5 of us (Henson, Ben, Jason, KB Heng & CS Ang) woke up at 3am and begin our journey to East West Highway at 4am. We arrive at Puncak Titiwangsa (2nd highest peak) around 7am, but we were down because it was raining and foggy up there. After much discussion we went down to Banding Lake which is nearby to have breakfast and then stoll around the lake and hoping for some good photos. Still it is raining but it did not stop us (hungry for photos) from taking photos.

Georgetown - The Pride of Penang Heritage Photo Trail

We went to help out the event organized by Photographic Society of Penang (PSP) with the invitation from Mr. LH Tan (Vice Chairman of PSP). It was really a big event and astonishing, you don't get to see a group of worldwide photographers gather together and take pictures in Georgetown. Not to mention all the equipments they use, you will never ever in your life seeing so many good cameras and lenses (Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Sony, Leica, etc [film slr].) in one group! It was a tiring moment for all of us (Henson, Ben, Jason, Dave, Chee Seng, Juon, LH Tan), sleeping only a few hours a day. But we the DSLR amatuers, feel that it's worth the sweat! We get to learn and know so many big photographers from around the globe. I will post up some of the events' photos after I have got enough rest and converting the files from raw to jpeg (arghhh..which will most probably take me a whole day to do it).

Exploring New Site II - Air Puteh, Junjung

No activity organized 4 today. Feeling abit unusal we (LH Tan, Ben Chong, Jason Khoo & Henson Quek) went to mainland to try out couple of new sites. At 1st we went to Air Puteh Waterfall located at Junjung. We try out some shots and also learned from LH Tan, how to shoot waterfalls.

After saying goodbye to LH Tan and Thanking him 4 his guiding, we went for late lunch @ Chai Leng Park and shoot off to explore 2nd location where many naturist appear quite often to shoot & observe birds and some endangered species. Bagan Tambang it is, around 15KM from B'worth.

Chingay Festival

Penang Tourism Department is co-organizing with Chingay Society to promote Chingay culture. I have only found out about this information yesterday and unfortunately I couldn't find some free time to post it. Below are the festival's information:-

Exploring New Site - Teluk Kumbar

As our club is growing amazingly fast. We need to find out more information of where members can take gorgeous photos in Penang. So Jason Khoo and I were cruising around Batu Maung area, and we came across this Teluk Kumbar, it's quite hidden from outside view. When we arrived, there were quite a numbers of Palestinian alike families picnicing. Let's let the photos do the talking.

New Club's Name - Photographers Network ( PGN )

After much awaits, we finally come across our new club's name, Photographers Network ( PGN ). From next weeks onwards, many things awaits us to do. Photographer Network will be a platform for DSLR hobbyists and Commercial Professional. In later stage we will be introducing Event Coverage Packages to northern region societies.

Advice 2 All Members!!

Objective to stay in our club & outing activities (applied to photo buddy):-

1. PGN Nikon Club's reputation and future activities come first (Member must always think on behalf of our club).
2. Members must be active in every activities, if absent from club's activities three times continuously without informing me, you will automatically be dismembered.
   
3. Members must be friendly, respectful to other members, no show off attitudes please. If I received 3 complaints about any member from others after outing activities, investigation will be held. If the complaint were true, you too will be dismembered.
4. PGN Nikon do not allow club politics, we take it seriously.

In not so distant future, all existing members must fill up our club joining application form with 2 passport size photos and joining fees plus annual fees. Official website and club venue will be inform later in future. A club ID card will be given to all successful applicant and your ID card must be worn at each activities outing! Others to be update in the future.
