Chingay Festival

Penang Tourism Department is co-organizing with Chingay Society to promote Chingay culture. I have only found out about this information yesterday and unfortunately I couldn't find some free time to post it. Below are the festival's information:-

Exploring New Site - Teluk Kumbar

As our club is growing amazingly fast. We need to find out more information of where members can take gorgeous photos in Penang. So Jason Khoo and I were cruising around Batu Maung area, and we came across this Teluk Kumbar, it's quite hidden from outside view. When we arrived, there were quite a numbers of Palestinian alike families picnicing. Let's let the photos do the talking.

New Club's Name - Photographers Network ( PGN )

After much awaits, we finally come across our new club's name, Photographers Network ( PGN ). From next weeks onwards, many things awaits us to do. Photographer Network will be a platform for DSLR hobbyists and Commercial Professional. In later stage we will be introducing Event Coverage Packages to northern region societies.

Advice 2 All Members!!

Objective to stay in our club & outing activities (applied to photo buddy):-

1. PGN Nikon Club's reputation and future activities come first (Member must always think on behalf of our club).
2. Members must be active in every activities, if absent from club's activities three times continuously without informing me, you will automatically be dismembered.
   
3. Members must be friendly, respectful to other members, no show off attitudes please. If I received 3 complaints about any member from others after outing activities, investigation will be held. If the complaint were true, you too will be dismembered.
4. PGN Nikon do not allow club politics, we take it seriously.

In not so distant future, all existing members must fill up our club joining application form with 2 passport size photos and joining fees plus annual fees. Official website and club venue will be inform later in future. A club ID card will be given to all successful applicant and your ID card must be worn at each activities outing! Others to be update in the future.

Member please take note!! I know all of you have being having these kind of problems, which is whenever you try to develop a photo which has been edited to your liking, the colour comes out different from what you actually wanted!! Please please don't forget to tell the shopkeeper that 'JUST PRINT AS IT IS' because the person who is in charge in developing photo in many photo shop tend to have their own taste and reedit your pictures!! That's why, if you understand what I mean then you know what to do next.

Blissful Bridal Studio - Runway Show

LH Tan and I went to Blissful Bridal Studio @ Jalan Bagan Jermal. We meet up with Ms. Anne Lee, sales & marketing manager of Blissful Bridal Studio. Lovely and sporting girl she is. We were invited to their bridal dress show in Gurney Plaza this coming sunday. Now, we get the chances to shoot upcoming season bridal dresses 1st hand!! How special is that? But!! The security will be tight that day, only registered member will be allow to attend. Please email me to register for attendance.

Requesting Suggestion 4 New Club Name

After much of worries because we are using PGN Nikon as our club's name. As Nikon is a registered trademark, if we keep on using it, we'll definitely land ourself in court case. Even though I have written a letter to Nikon Malaysia asking for approval, but chances are slim I guess. So without further ado, hereby I am asking all members to summit suggestion to me ASAP. I wanted to apply for the registration of our club ASAP, so that we can do so much more activities which will help our club to grow and acknowledge by others. And not to mention we are going worldwide, so the new club's name shouldn't suggest limitation of Continent. And no Nikon wording shall be used. Email me your suggestion and we shall vote for the 5 most suitable name. Email me @ pgnnikon@gmail.com, please introduce yourself a bit in the email if you are new or inactive member before suggesting new club's name.

Macau & Hong Kong Trip

LH Tan was on holiday to Macau & Hong Kong while we were walking down Penang Bridge Marathon, exhausting ourself to death. Now that he is back and he has given us some good photos example of how to shoot a proper scenery photos. Let us enjoy some of it.

Selected participant from every month judging will entitiled to Grand Final Judging, on which will won you the above lucrative prizes. KL Photo Awards 2009

Here it comes, KL Photo Awards 2009. It's opened for entries now, anyone who are interested in this competition can start preparing your portrait shots and try your luck. According to the authority, there will be 2 different categories, which is professional and non professional. Prizes are in USD. Digitally altered photo are not permissible, however basic darkroom techniques eg. levels, curves, dodging, burning, minimal sharpening, colour correction are permissable. Interesting.
